Manchester United Again Failed To Defeat Crystal Palace

Manchester United again failed to defeat Crystal Palace

Ex-Red Devils goalkeeper's heroics keep ten Hag outside top 10 of the Premier League table

Manchester United remain winless after three Premier League matches as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag's side dominated possession but failed to break down a resolute Palace defense, and they were punished when Wilfried Zaha put the hosts ahead in the 76th minute.

United did manage to equalize through a penalty from Bruno Fernandes in the 81st minute, but they could not find a winner as Jack Butland, who spent last season on loan at Old Trafford, made a string of fine saves.

United's struggles continue

The result leaves United in 13th place in the Premier League table, with just one point from their opening three matches.

It is the club's worst start to a season since 1992/93, when they finished 11th.

Ten Hag is still searching for his first win as United manager, and he will be concerned by his team's lack of creativity and cutting edge in the final third.

Palace's impressive start

In contrast, Crystal Palace have made an impressive start to the season, taking seven points from their opening three matches.

Patrick Vieira's side have been well-organized and difficult to break down, and they have shown a threat going forward.

Zaha was particularly impressive against United, and he will be hoping to continue his good form in the coming weeks.

Butland's heroics

Jack Butland was the hero for Crystal Palace, making a string of fine saves to deny United.

The former England international was particularly impressive in the second half, as he kept out efforts from Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Butland's performance will give Vieira a lot of confidence, and he will be hoping that the goalkeeper can continue to perform at a high level in the coming weeks.
